Exciting Changes Bring Awesome Opportunties

For someone who loves to write I am struggling to find the words. This seems to be a year of change for me but this change, this one, is a doozy and my sharing it with you is hard but so exciting!

THEN

When my family moved to Weiser, a short 8 years ago, it was because of a need. My children needed to be in a place where they were seen as a person, not a number, and could be part of a community that loved them as much as I do. The hard part was moving my fledgling business an hour away from my client base. But, move we did and it was well worth it. The kids found their place in the community and I found a building for rent that I could actually afford. Our place had been found and we thrived.

I remember the kids being so excited that lived somewhere with a pool. We were also big fans of Hometown when we first moved to town. Diner food was our favorite! In the fall of that same year I found out my yellow shop door was helping me cement ourselves into the community. I was the lady with yellow door and the kids had the mom with the yellow door. I loved that. (This pic was taken only a few months after moving to Weiser.)

NOW

Fast forward 3 yellow doors, 3 major surgeries for my son, and 3 kids graduated. I find it is time for me to move on. You have helped me grow my business in this wonderful place but if you know me at all, I dream big. To do that, I need to move the business to a bigger place. It just so happens that I have quite a few connections with Boise-based designers and have an opportunity to work with a couple of them. This means I am headed back to the Boise area.

COMING UP…

Come July 1st, I will be closing my shop doors in Weiser. Now, before you panic and all the texts start pouring in, I need to let you know that you are my adopted hometown and I will still be serving as your upholsterer. The only real change is that you won’t be able to stop in and say hi…but I can stop in and say hi to you! It’s simple, you give me a call (or text, or IM, or holler) and we’ll schedule a time for me to come to your place or meet for coffee, whichever you prefer. We find the perfect fabric for your chair, I take it with me and bring it back all pretty and new! The logistics fall to me now. (I already have a few Weiser customers that are taking me up on this new offer and loving it!)

This is a great opportunity to connect with me by signing up for my email list! I send out bi-weekly newlsetters, tips on upholstery and home decorating, as well as stories about life and personal growth. It is also a great way to get first dibs on my upholstery calendar!

TIME FOR ANOTHER BUSINESS TO BLOOM

I know you all have questions and feel like this is out of the blue but I could not share this news with you until I had all the details. When and how the change comes and can’t always be controlled but faith pulls me through no matter how it looks. As much as I love my little shop, it has run its course and it is time to once again help another business bloom. There will be more on that in another story very soon!

l HAVE TO SAY THANK YOU!

Thank you for loving on me and my family. My little downtown shop was a perfect spot to join in on the Homecoming Parade fun, dress up for Halloween trick-or-treating, and all the other holiday festivities. My kids and I had the wonderful opportunities to volunteer for the Fiddle Fest, Easter egg hunts at the Nazarene church, Kid’s Day, Flower Festivals, Homecoming week fun, and so much more.

It was my immense pleasure to help 4 small businesses in Downtown get their start. Truly, all I did was cheerlead for them, and have cofee dates so we discuss our respective ups/downs and points of view. To see those wonderful women thrive is a blessing I will always be grateful for. You ladies know who you are and I just want to say thank you for allowing me to cheer you on!

My biggest thank you though, goes to those that chose my shop as a safe place to share pieces of their story with me. You trusted me to hold and treasure that with you and sometimes for you. Whether it was through upholstery or through conversation, I got to a part of your lives, your kids’ lives, and so much more. Thank you. ♡

Happy ME this does NOT make. But I’m happy for you and the opportunity for your career.

Hard to believe the kids are all graduated now.

Best wishes and, please, keep me in your list.

    With love,

    1. Hi Jean! I hope you are well. I will definitely keep you on the list and available for any upholstery needs you may have.

I’m not sure what I was expecting when the kids grew up but I’m ready to roll with the changes.

I’m sad to see you go, but happy that you’re looking forward to a new adventure with an open heart! I can’t believe your kids have all graduated, as have my grandkids. We recently sold our place in the valley and are living at our cabin for now, so big changes for us, too. I hope to see your new shop sometime when I’m in Boise! 😊🌻💕

    1. I know what you mean. It is one of those slowly and all the sudden situations. I hope you are loving cabin life!
Once I’m settled I’ll have an open house and get everyone over for a visit.

  5. I’m so proud to call you my friend. You’re such a badass lady. Wherever you’re located you will rock it. ❤️❤️❤️

  6. Oh, how Weiser will miss your presence! Delighted for all the opportunities this gives you, but selfishly sad for the Casey-shaped hole that will be in Weiser. You know I’ll find you when I need you.

    1. That is probably one of the sweetest things to be said about me. Thank you! I will still be in and out working on my building and doing home visits. We’ll cross paths, I’m sure!
