We Are Moving …

Video below

UPDATE! We have moved our first load over to Mississippi! Here’s the story:

We took off from our soon-to-be-sold home in Idaho last Sunday (it is the following Saturday as I type this…) and headed to our new home in Hattiesburg, MS. We left with a fully loaded 26ft truck and our little read truck hauling my ’57 Panel Truck. I did the hauling – I’ve never hauled a trailer in my life so why not start with a 2K mile trek?! Anywho…

It turned out our 26ft truck was governed at 70 mph but since it was so heavy we barely got over 35mph on hills. Ugh. We got as far as Jackson, MS (1.5 hrs from our destination) and the truck broke down…the first time. It ultimately broke down 3 times before we finally got them to tow it to where we were. In the meantime, I hauled the ’57 in terrential rain for anther 2.5 hours to get to our storage unit. I’m not kidding, it was a really bad rainstorm. I did it though! Got there safely.

Our moving truck showed up the next day, and, in more rain, we unloaded those 26ft of truck! We were soaked, tired, and hungy by the end of it but we did it! Now, we are 2 days into our 3 day trip back to Idaho to finish up the sale of the house and to load one more 26ft truck. Almost there! (Prayers are alwasy appreciated!)

I’ve been holding onto a secret! After a whirlwind 4 weeks I can now share that we are moving to Mississippi! An unexpected opportunity presented itself that we just couldn’t pass up. There isn’t a whole lot I can say about that part right now, but I can say we will be moving to the beautiful city of Hattiesburg, MS!

This May will be CaseyGirl Design’s 14th birthday! Fourteen years of being a part of your homes, your lives, and our community. That is humbling. I raised a family, got my son through a tough childhood with Spina Bifida, and became a part of something bigger than myself through this business. What an incredible gift.

All of this will happening by June 1st. Our house went on the market in early March, under contract by end of March and now we are working on getting packed and 7 vintage cars moved acrosse the country! Mine and my husband’s heads are spinning with everything we have to do. During all of this though, I still have some very important jobs to do! My current upholstery clients are not being pushed aside, or forgotten! I am working as quickly as I can to get jobs done in timely yet beautiful manner. These will be my last jobs in Idaho. Wow. I can hardly believe it.

Before I jump off to get some more work done, I want to say thank you. The appreciateion and gratitude I have for all of you is beyond words for me. At least, not any that don’t feel generic. What you’ve allowed me to accomplish is nothing short of extraordinary. My life has been beyond blessed through this business. And to think I tried to scrap it for Real Estate. Thank the Good Lord that did not pan!

Love, CaseyGirl
